Bushcraft Kit Essentials

When backpacking, it is important to have some bushcraft kit essentials. These include a survival knife, a fishing kit, and a space blanket. You should also pack a feather stick for warmth. You can purchase space blankets or make your own. Regardless of what you decide to pack, it is important to prepare for the worst. And of course, you need to carry a first aid kit, as well. This article will walk you through some of the most important items in a bushcraft kit.

Survival knife

A survival knife can be an essential part of your bushcraft kit. While many knives are good for a multitude of tasks, there are some that are better suited for light outdoor activities. For instance, a survival knife with a short blade will be useless for trimming ropes, shaving tinder, or cutting wood. Even if you are only going to be using the knife to start a fire, a robust blade with an edge can make all the difference. You want a knife that is 3-5 inches long and a blade thickness of 1/16 inch to 1/8" thick.

Fishing kit

A good fishing kit can make the difference between surviving a wilderness situation and getting nowhere. These kits come with everything you need for fishing, including tackle, a fishing pole, and a variety of lures. In addition to this, they include line and hooks, and some extras, like sinkers and bobbers. The fishing line is optional, and you can also make one using a stick or other object.

Space blankets

While space blankets are often overlooked when it comes to preparing for a wilderness adventure, they are essential items in your bushcraft kit. They're made of lightweight aluminum, and they reflect heat better than other materials. They also provide warmth in extreme cold. Read on to learn why these are a great addition to any kit. But what are they, and what can they do for you? Find out in this article!

Feather stick

A feather stick is a handy bushcraft tool. This specialized tool is made from a piece of dead wood, often pine, cedar or willow. This type of wood is naturally resistant to insects and is also strong enough to withstand the effects of cold and heat. Its length should be between thirty and forty centimeters, and it should be preferably two inches in diameter. Before assembling your kit, you will need to select the perfect timber for the sticks.

Survival card

There are many different types of survival tools in a bushcraft kit, but the one that suits you best is the Survival Card. Unlike a traditional survival kit, this one comes with all the tools you'll need to survive without a single specialized tool. The adventur 3.0 version comes in titanium and stainless steel. It's packed with tools, including a sundial, arrowhead, and curved needles. If you're really into bushcraft, you can even use the survival card as a spear tip.
