Bushcraft in the UK is Making a Comeback

Bushcraft in the UK is making a comeback, thanks to a number of new instructors. We'll look at Brancheing Out, Wildway Bushcraft, Greenwood Loch Activity Centre, and Ray Mears' renaissance of the outdoor pursuit. We'll also take a look at the role of the Royal Air Force in the resurgence of bushcraft, and why it's so good for the UK.

Branching Out

A pioneering project in the field of mental health services has proved to be a success in Scotland. The Forestry Commission Scotland has successfully piloted a project called Branching Out in two sites in the heart of Scotland's countryside, near Glasgow. Participants take part in a range of outdoor activities ranging from woodland art to nature conservation. Bushcraft is a proven activity for building confidence and helping people overcome mental health issues.

Learning bushcraft has many practical benefits and is a great way to bond with your children. The benefits of spending time in nature are immense, especially for children. Taking your children out into the great outdoors has a positive effect on their health and well-being. In addition to reducing stress levels, spending time in nature also helps them learn a valuable skill. The 3.5 hectare forest at Branching Out is a great place to explore this aspect of the outdoors.

Wildway Bushcraft

If you've been looking for a weekend away with a bushcraft course in the UK, you've come to the right place. Wildway Bushcraft offers two-day bushcraft adventures in the countryside around Hampshire. The courses include everything from archery practice to axe throwing and even deer skinning. The best part is that you can stay in tents and learn about wildlife and survival skills on the course - although booze and alcohol are not permitted!

For those looking for a more wholesome adventure, bushcraft courses are the perfect way to spend a summer holiday. Bushcraft courses teach you everything from building a shelter to foraging for food and cooking over the campfire. They also teach traditional bushcraft skills, such as fire-making and knife-handling. Bookings for bushcraft courses are open now, and most of the companies have hygiene measures in place to prevent the spread of diseases, such as the coronavirus. For safety reasons, courses are conducted in a socially-disciplined environment and participants wear masks. They also provide single-person sets of tools for each participant.

Greenwood Loch Activity Centre

If you're looking for a unique family holiday, why not try a few days out at a Scottish bushcraft camp? Greenwood Loch Activity Centre is an outdoor activity centre located in Turriff, Aberdeenshire. The site is 200 acres and fully serviced, with all the amenities you'd expect. This campsite is also pet-friendly. You can choose luxury self-catering accommodation or a holiday home and explore the park's events programme or onsite fly fishing loch. The location is also stunning, with dramatic coastline and seaside villages and is close to many attractions.

If you're looking for a family holiday, there are plenty of summer activities to enjoy, including bushcraft. If you prefer the quiet, go in winter. Regardless of the season, you'll find a great deal of fun and relaxation at this park. The centre is open until the end of January and has a number of great offers to take advantage of. The park is also known for its educational programs for children.

Ray Mears' bushcraft renaissance

Bushcraft is a growing interest in many countries, and a TV series starring Ray Mears can provide beginners with practical fieldcraft tips and insight into the mysteries of the countryside. The series features Ray Mears' bushcraft skills and reflections on his work as a bushcraft instructor, television presenter, and founder of the Woodlore School of Wilderness Bushcraft. The series is available on BBC2 and is broadcast in the US, Canada, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
