Why Preppers Love Texas!

Preppers are found everywhere; however, there are only a handful of states that preppers prefer. A large number of Prepper media influencers, Facebook groups, and survival gear companies are from Texas. Why do preparedness-minded individuals flock to the Lone Star State? Check out the video below.

Whether you need a vacation spot or you are shopping for a small bug out camping trailer, go to Houston! This gorgeous city, located in the southeast of Texas, is a true delight for everyone. But if you’re a hardcore prepper, you’d want to be meticulous while planning your vacation. Take a look at some of the places that are worth visiting.

Places to Check Out in Houston

Rosie Cannonball – Stop for a Unique and Fancy Meal

Rosie Cannonball is an elegant, minimalist restaurant in midtown Houston. If you want to find a great variety of food in Houston, Rosie Cannonball is your place to go to. This restaurant is like a mini-Europe in the middle of Houston. It serves authentic European dishes in a lively and engaging ambiance.

Their menu includes a variety of pasta, fresh seafood, and even live fire-cooked meals. This place isn’t the best option if you’re looking for Texan food, but it’s a good start. For recommendations of excellent restaurants serving Texan cuisine, check out Houstoning

Minute Maid Park

Opened as the home base for “Houston Astros” in Major League Baseball, this Park is one of the most popular tourist spots in Houston.

Originally named “The Ballpark at Union Station, Enron Field,” Minute Maid Park hosts all the regular-season games. It is also home to local festivities, which keeps it a crowd puller for the entire year. If you’re in the city, check out what’s on this Park’s calendar for the week and be sure to visit it.

The Sylvan Beach

The Sylvan Beach offers a wide variety of activities for tourists and regulars. And that makes it incredibly popular, and rightfully so. It offers fishing and boating facilities. The year-round smaller waves and the lack of seaweeds make it perfect for a swim too.

There are also amusement parks, restaurants, and fantastic nightlife close by. In short, it has everything you might need to have a fun day in Houston.

Hermann Park

Founded in 1914 as a public park, Hermann Park is one of the best picnic places in Houston. So if you’re in Houston with your significant other, a lunchtime picnic here would be the best romantic date.

The historical Third Ward is located near this Park, making it an exciting spot for history buffs. Spread over a vast area of 445-acres, this Park contains a plethora of establishments like a Zoo, Museums, Pools, Theaters, and even an entire 18-hole golf course.

So put this place on your itinerary for a wholesome tour of the Park.

Market Square Park

Also known as the “Center of Downtown’s Historic District,” this public Park has been a part of the city’s history since 1836. The 19th-century architecture still preserved in the Park’s areas adds vintage charm to the place.

This Park is world-famous for its occasional free and open movie screening. So if you’re a movie buff, this place deserves a spot on your bucket list of things to do in Houston.

Some Tips to Make Your Trip Easier

  • Spring or autumn are the best times to visit Houston. Summers can be pretty uncomfortable because of the sweltering temperatures. Plus, most events and festivals are scheduled for spring and autumn.
  • Plan your budget. Houston is a big city, and your expenses can get out of control if you don’t have things planned before you go there.
  • Using public transportation such as the metro is a great way to travel around the city. It’ll save you both money and time.
  • To enjoy sightseeing to the fullest, you can even rent a bike and take a ride around some particularly gorgeous areas of the city.

Start planning your post-pandemic vacation and decide for yourself if it really is a preppers paradise.
